Intimate Portraits - Unlimited

Intimate Portraits is a series of performances by largely Amsterdam-based dance artists from different communities, presented by Stichting KunstenDialoog. The choreographies reflect on a variety of ssubjects, sometimes personal, sometimes political, sometimes thematic. Each evening ends with a short interview with the performers. Unlimited is a double bill that includes dancers with special capacities.

YOU AND ME AND ALL THE OTHERS is about two people who want to explore the world together. To what extent can you and I define the world without being too concerned with everyone else around us? The duet shows that people will always differ, just as they will always agree. In the world, in you and in me.

Two Duets by Cardiac Output Company

Two short duets from the company’s repertory. The first duet, danced by Susy Steijn and Emre Özcan, is from the piece West Side Stories (not to be confused with West Side Story) a performance in which stories are told through dance about the differences and similarities of individuals in society. The duet is taken from Romeo and Juliet story,

The second duet is from the piece Déja Vu, which looks back to times gone by. Here the focus is on approachability and unapproachability. Dancers here are Corine Speulman and Aeymad Qassabi.

JIJ EN IK EN ALLE ANDEREN (lite versie)

Het stuk gaat over twee mensen die samen de wereld willen ontdekken. De wereld om hen heen die alsmaar blijft draaien. In hoeverre kunnen jij en ik de wereld bepalen? Zonder dat we teveel bezig zijn met alle anderen om ons heen. Het duet laat zien dat mensen altijd zullen verschillen, net zoals zij altijd zullen overeenkomen. Soms verwarrend, maar meestal geïnteresseerd en liefhebbend. En wat we het meeste liefhebben zijn juist de dingen die door ons heen stromen. In de wereld, in jou en in mij- meer inf is hier te vinden

TWEE DUETTEN VAN CARDIAC OUTPUT

Dans: Susy Steijn en Emre Özcan, Corine Speulman en Aeymad Qassabi

Romeo en Julia- uit de voorstelling West Side Stories (niet te verwarren met west side STORY)  waarin de verhalen verteld worden middels dans tussen de verschillen en overeenkomsten van individuen in de maatschappij. Een onderdeel daarvan is ook het Romeo en Julia verhaal, ge (op de foto staat Emre met een andere danseres) Het beeldmateriaal is ter illustratie maar wel de juiste scene.

De tweede duet komt uit het stuk Déja Vu, die  kijkt terug naar vervlogen tijden. Hierbij staat de benaderbaarheid en onbereikbaarheid centraal.
