Intimate Portraits is een bijzondere serie voorstellingen met unieke dansmakers, gepresenteerd door Stichting KunstenDialoog. Beleef een mix van persoonlijke verhalen, politieke statements en thematische verkenningen door middel van meeslepende choreografieën. Elke avond eindigt met een interview met de performers, wat een unieke inkijk biedt in hun creatief proces.

Choreografie: Bursting Clouds
Bursting Clouds is een uitnodiging voor het publiek om verder te kijken dan de buitenkant van een storm en deze echt te omarmen. Deze voorstelling daagt uit hoe we naar de natuur kijken en stelt vragen over de gevoelens die een storm kan oproepen. De dansers geven zich volledig over aan de ervaring van de storm in al zijn rauwheid, schoonheid en chaos.

Biografie:
Lola van Rumpt behaalde in 2022 haar Bachelor in Dans aan het Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts. Sinds haar afstuderen heeft ze gewerkt met Sally Dansgezelschap Maastricht, Xclusiv Company, IID Company en Zero Dance Theatre. Als maker werkt ze graag samen met andere kunstenaars en disciplines. Ze streeft ernaar de grenzen van beweging te verleggen en onderzoekt dringende maatschappelijke thema’s zoals klimaatverandering en kapitalisme. In haar werk schetst ze een herkenbaar, maar confronterend beeld waarin het publiek zich zowel kan verliezen als terugvinden.

Choreografie: Zaytoun: The whore of Canaan

Een oude man leidt ons door een eeuwenoude, vervallen stad naar de laatste staande boom. Zaytoun is haar naam, Olijf. Ze draagt de verhalen van haar familie en vertelt over haar soort.

Een multimediaal en multidisciplinair solovoorstelling met live muzikale begeleiding (gepresenteerd als work in progress in de OBA).

Biografie:

Antonio Alemanno (IT) is een professioneel opgeleide multi-instrumentalist (contrabas, cello, oed, charango, framedrums, analoge synthesizers en elektronica) en componist, met een onderscheidende ritmische en melodische benadering die de verschillende kleuren en nuances van de instrumenten die hij bespeelt, samenbrengt en vermengt.

Experience a mix of personal stories, political statements, and thematic explorations through engaging choreographies. Each night ends with an insightful interview with the performers, offering a glimpse into their artistry.

Bursting Clouds is an invitation for the audience to look further than the outer layer of storm, but to truly embrace it. This performance challenges the way we look at nature and questions the feelings a storm can evoke. The dancers surrender themselves to the experience of the storm in all its rawness, beauty and chaos.

Biography:
Lola van Rumpt finished her Bachelor’s degree in Dance at Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts in 2022. Since graduating she has worked with Sally Dansgezelschap Maastricht, Xclusiv Company, IID Company and Zero Dance Theatre. As a maker she enjoys working in tandem with other artists and disciplines. She strives to push the limits of movement and explores urgent social themes such as climate change and capitalism. In her work she paints a recognizable yet confronting picture in which the audience can lose and find themselves simultaneously.

An old man leads us through an ancient crumbling city to the last tree standing. Zaytoun is her name, Olive. She carries the stories of her kin and tells of her kind. A multi-media and multi-disciplinary solo performance with live musical accompaniment (presented at the OBA as a work in progress.)

Antonio Alemanno (IT) is a professionally trained multi-instrumentalist (double bass, cello, oud, charango, frame drums, analog synthesizers and electronics) and composer, with a distinctive rhythmical and melodic approach that borrows and blends the different colors and nuances of the instruments he plays.
